We drove 20,000 tough road miles this season, the hardest of which came in December.
Mike and I traveled from Raleigh, North Carolina to Seattle, Washington in one straight shot -- 3,200 miles in the dead of winter. Ouch. Putting down 500 miles day in never ending snow, then rain, then more snow was the toughest challenge to date. The electrics burnt out on my rig, and our water systems froze into blocks of ice. Finally, 6 days later, a mere 45 miles from our destination we get buried in the Snowqualmie pass and have to go back down the mountain. The only chains available were MADE IN CHINA, and of course they snapped just miles after being installed, chewing up the wheel wells, and forcing us back outside into the frigid storm to put them back on. I thought I would never make it home for Christmas. I never imaged that after the break I would have to scale that icy mountain 3 more times....
Holy Blizzard! Watching you guys put those chains on for ten minutes cracks me up everytime. I love the way the two drivers are struggling while the camera guy is filming and everyone else is having a play date.... 20, 000 miles in a few months - thats intense. Hope you are getting paid a fortune! Any chance you can submit a story or some pics to www.ratzfansite.com? We love this guy and need more content. Go MIA!
I thought you went away to work not play in the snow. How come I didn't see that clip of you making those killer snow angels you were so proud of. Next time remember to stay away from that yellow snow.
YOU NEED TO GET A SET OF RUD AUTOMATIC SNOW CHAINS FOR YOUR RVS.
A WVU Knit Cap! You should be embarrised. It should not have taken you so long to get the RV up that steep slippery hill. As a WVU alumni I would think you had lots of experience getting large things from Boreman South up Fraternity Hill.
Hey Chase,
Kudos's to you!!! Traveling 3,200 miles in one straight shot is a feat of endurance, and in the winter is a test of patience! I hope they appreciate all that your do for the show.
